Waterfall Action Park wanted to go that extra mile to protect this bungee jumping tower in the super corrosive environment of North Carolina's Outer Banks. They chose one of CounterAct's STATIX© fixed structure anti-corrosion systems.
The Statix© systems have been designed from the start with fixed above ground or above the waterline static structures in mind. Fixed, static structures like steel frame buildings and towers, metal piers and port facility equipment or even manufacturing machinery and infrastructure require a quite different approach than mobile applications like cars or even bull dozers. Impressed current cathodic protection or anodic protection is not the answer for open air applications But the CounterAct Statix©

CounterAct has been called upon at various times to provide corrosion protection solutions for water treatment plants, coal washing plants, air conditioning systems and of course bungee jumping towers! (see above) Our system also may be applied to boats and ships above the water line.
Occasionally we have been asked to design "hybrid anti-corrosion systems " that employ our proprietary technology above ground and traditional impressed current cathodic protection on the buried portion. Although our proprietary technology is our "bread and butter" as corrosion consultants we can and do from time to time design and install more traditional forms of electronic corrosion controls.
